Wishing You a Paleo Christmas

December 23, 2011

I had written a long post on my christmas wish for a manual for how to successfully navigate teens. But it didn’t work, must be karma.  Instead my family and I would like to wish you a very happy and safe Christmas holidays. We’re going on another road trip, this time to see family and hit Australia Zoo and other attractions down near Brisbane, Australia. We’re going to ‘try’ to keep paleo this christmas, it won’t be easy due to travelling etc, but we’ll do our best. This year has been full of ups and downs. Our health has never been better, our twins are talking (still some problems but the changes Paleo’s created are wonderful), our energy levels are better, we’re still losing body fat (woohoo), and we’re looking forward to new challenges next year.

Highlights of the year? Other than starting our Paleo journey? Our eldest graduating high school, our children being happy and excelling at school, having successfully dropped over 80kgs together as a couple (not all this year but a lot of it was), and now having the focus and drive to make sure our family gets the most out of life.

Lowlights of the year? Two surgeries which put my fitness/health on the back burner, being so busy that we compromised our health, being told by a ‘teacher’ that our children were most definitely autistic and we should prepare for a very hard life with them.

The lowlights definitely influenced the highlights, without them we would never had pushed ourselves into this lifestyle, we would never have enjoyed the blessings we have had this year. It’s been a tough year all around, but it gets better.

See you in the New Year. And remember resolutions can be made anytime of the year, not just at the end. Make the change you need to have a fulfilling life, you’ll be surprised with what you achieve.
