Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead

October 22, 2011

Hubby and I watched Joe Cross’s documentary the other day “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead“. It’s available on iTunes, Netflix and a few other streamed websites if you want to take a look.

Joe was a heavy guy, he was on medication for urticara (a skin condition which causes inflammation – hive like rashes), he was tired all the time, needed energy but had none. So he decided to go on a juice fast. Which is basically juicing fruit and veges and drinking them for the duration of the fast. He did a 60 day fast, which really takes a major amount of mental toughness to commit to and stick with.

Joe made an amazing recovery from his ill-health. You watch his progress through the documentary and it’s hard to believe this is the same guy that started the fim. Joe also was able to reach out and help Phil, another urticara sufferer. Phil’s transformation is more than amazing, almost miraculous in the amount of weight that he shed but also in beating his health demons.

Hubby and I are adapting his fasting idea to breakfasts and lunches for 10 days to help kick start things again. We’re on day 2. So far so good? Yes, but Day 3 is supposed to be bad… hmmm, well, we’ll see.

Joe’s started a community called “Reboot Your Life” please take the time to go have a look, it’s worth the effort.
