Plyo Boxes in the Backyard!

Okay so last night we tested out the brand spanking new plyo box I made with a WOD of 21-15-9: box jumps, kettlebell swings, pushups, sit-ups, tyre flips, and squats. And the results were: the box made it! The teens actually could jump up on it without dying (although the eldest teen started stepping up when things got too tough) and in the end the product was pronounced good.

Overall I think the outcome was good. I superglued on a mat on the top to help with friction, especially as I have 4 yr olds and 6 yr olds jumping up and down on the box. Mr4 (pictured) climbed up yelled “yeehaaa” and jumped off after seeing his big sister jumping up and down.


Now I have to figure out how to build a pull up bar! Onwards and upwards!

    Wow, how high is it? Buns of steel, lady!

    My goal is to do pull ups, though I’m starting with inclined raises until I too work out how to make a pull up bar. Sadly the pallet racking at work just isn’t the right configuration!

    Kel it’s 18inches high (used my next door neighbours measuring tape- old one), so that’s 45cm tall. Not massive but enough to make your butt muscles wish you’d stop. Hubby’s found plans for a freestanding pullup bar that’s made from 2X4s… might have to sink my chops into that next weekend.
